Privacy and church messages
Updated 4 October 2026
Information we use
Authorised church staff enter member and visitor names, phone numbers, email addresses, birthdays and permission to receive messages. We use these details to care for our church family, send birthday greetings, send service reminders and welcome first time visitors.
Signing in with ChatGPT provides your account identifier, name and email address so the website can manage access. Church contact records are restricted to authorised staff.
Email and SMS
The church sends email from shelterrockmissions@gmail.com using the Gmail API. The church mailbox grants permission to send email only. The website does not request permission to read its inbox. Members do not need to connect their own Gmail accounts to receive church emails.
When a message is sent, its recipient address or phone number and message content are processed by Google for email or the configured SMS provider for text messages. Sending history records the recipient record, message category, date, channel, status and provider reference to help prevent duplicate sends.
Google account permission
The website uses the church mailbox permission only to send church messages. It does not use Google account data for advertising or sell it. The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
You can ask church staff to correct or remove your contact record, or withdraw permission for SMS, email or both. Withdrawing permission stops future messages through the selected channel. The church mailbox owner can also revoke the app’s Gmail permission from their Google Account settings.
